This year has been one of great success for Chi Psi as, among other things, the fraternity’s undergraduate membership has grown by 35% and the Annual Fund Challenge has raised over $260,000. This weekend members of the Executive Council and the Educational Trust had the pleasure of meeting to discuss the organizations recent success and discuss plans for building upon this success in the future. The Trust and Council conducted their respective meetings in Colonial Williamsburg, the site of the 175 Anniversary Celebration. They were joined by the Central Office staff and several guests; including representatives from our Colonies and Interest Groups at Yale, Wesleyan, and Ole Miss.
The weekend was centered around building upon the organization’s recent success. The Fraternity planned for future growth and discussed the further development of educational programs and the Program for Excellence. The boards had the opportunity to hear from each of Chi Psi’s Colonies and Interest Groups about their fraternity experience. The Ole Miss Interest Group was granted Colony status (three Colonies opened in one year is the most Chi Psi has ever opened!). It made for a great weekend, and personally I am very excited to see what is to come!
One the coolest parts of the weekend was having the opportunity to tour the site of the 175 Anniversary Celebration. The facilities for the 175th are outstanding and are really going to make for a great atmosphere as Chi Psi celebrates an amazing milestone. From golf tournaments, to ghost tours there will be plenty of fun things to compliment the normal convention activities. I believe that Chi Psi is going to experience an amazing amount of success between now and then, and I can’t wait to celebrate 175 years of Chi Psi in Colonial Williamsburg with all of my brothers.
