The Road Less Traveled – The Path of Leadership

“Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is not a path and leave a trail.”

These words were once spoken by Ralph Waldo Emerson in regards to the subject of leadership. Leadership seems to be a quality that some just seem to have and others don’t; why is this?

Is leadership something we are born with? Is it learned?

According to Emerson, it is simply the courage to do what others have not, to challenge the status quo. If you lead, others will follow.  If you don’t believe me watch the video below.

When the young man began to dance you may have thought he was crazy, one skittle shy of fully tasting the rainbow, ya know. But then he found another crazy person, and they began to dance together. A few more people join in, and then a few more. Before you know it the entire crowd is running to join in a dance party that looks like so much fun. All of sudden, it is not so crazy anymore. All of sudden, it is normal and people are flocking to join. And it all started by one man “Going instead where there is not a path”.

“Two roads diverge in a wood, and I, I took the one less traveled by. And that has made all the difference.”
